Wainui Beach

One blazing hot day, we walked down to Wainui beach.  Seagulls were squawking , waves were crashing on to the slippery rocks and crabs scattered across the shore.

A few minutes later we sat down and we all started to talk about sea creatures. I thought it was interesting about how many things can live on just a small shore. And then everyone stood up to go and explore the beach. In my head I said I need to find a paua shell so I looked and I looked but I just couldn't find one. Then right out of the corner of my eye I saw a strange looking stone. So I went to go and check it out and I started lifting it up. WOW IT’S HEAVY! I brought it to Mrs Jones. I said “What is it?” It was a volcanic rock.
